We've hit the halfway point!

12 July 2012

We’ve now raised US$50mn since we began in 2003, and are on track to reach US$100mn by 2020 to help people see.

We’re making an impact
Thanks to all our fundraisers and donators we’re able to fund projects that will restore the site for people in need across the world.

One of our recent projects is in Douala, Cameroon and run by our partners, Right to Sight. There are roughly 190,000 people who are blind in Cameroon, mainly due to cataract. Launched two years ago, the project aims to screen 80,000 people and conduct 9,900 cataract operations by the end of 2013. Read more about this project.

How we’ve helped
Darren Dovis and Brian Brice are two young boys who were suffering from visual impairment. Their parents were worried that they would never get the treatment needed to cure their eyesight. After visiting their local hospital in Acha, which is part of the Right to Sight project, both boys found out that they were suffering from cataracts.

Watch their story.

We couldn’t have done it without you
Thanks to all your continual fundraising and donations, both Darren and Brian are now able to see again. If you would like to help restore someone’s sight, please donate.
